Holiday decorations come to life to fight the coyote pack, but they are no match for the sharp teeth of the coyotes. Rescue comes from an unexpected quarter, secrets are revealed, and they learn that the rogue pack is in league with MacDougal himself.

This is Book 5 in the Caitlin & RIo series - The Coyote King. When Sally told me about the story of this one, I was immediately brainstorming ideas for it. And I had so much fun illustrating it! Sally's books always spark my imagination, the concepts and ideas are always so out there and unusual.... and I LOVE it! It gives me a lot of creative freedom to really push the boundaries of what the cover can be.
This was meant to be an action scene, and so I tried to get as much movement as I could with the flying Christmas decoration, the wind, snow, etc. There is a lot going on in the scene, so it was a challenge to try and make it as chaotic as possible, but still be readable and not overly busy. Definitely one of my favorite covers that I have done so far!
