Synopsis: A child born in a mirage is bound to be extraordinary, and Faye Mirabelle is certainly that. Delivered to a miner and his wife, she grows up in the western canyons where she tries to live an ordinary life. But Faye is no ordinary girl, and she embarks on a journey through the Canyon of the Sun where the mortal and fairy worlds collide.

Book cover for the first book of the series Mirror Child by Tamra Andrews, The Woolgatherer.
The book is set in Western America in the 1800s and is filled with fairies and magic! It was a great project to get all my creativity out with this book. There's a strong concept of pareidolia in the book (when you see faces in every day objects/nature) so I knew I had to include this in the cover illustration! The intent was to infuse magic into this canyon scene and show the reader that the more you look at it, the more you see.
