A Big Brother’s Guide to Bringing Home a Preemie tells the story of a young boy whose baby brother is born prematurely. It is designed to help siblings and families deal with the overwhelming emotions and challenges that premature birth can bring.

It was a great honor for me to illustrate this book, as this was written from the true life experience of the family. The book is written from the perspective of the older brother, Gavin, as he navigates the challenges of premature birth with his new-born brother Iver. It was important for me to translate accurately the real life experience of this family, while trying to maintain it easy enough to understand for young children. Ultimately, we ended up with a book that was educative and that the whole family loved.
